500 CRS from Icon Steel is specially developed for greater corrosion resistance and longevity. It has higher workability and is recommended for seismically sensitive areas. Icon Steel manufactures 500 CRS from corrosion-resistant billets.
These billets have Cu, P and Cr in proper balance and are processed through the continuous casting process. The bars undergo a quenching and a self-tempering process (TMT) using German technology.
Corrosion Resistance :
If your structure is in a humid, coastal or wet area, then corrosion is an acute threat. The air, with its salinity and the salt in the water and the soil, weaken buildings. In recent decades, even the toxic content of industrial emissions caused corrosion. Construction expenditures make us expect longer service from buildings but to meet this expectation, they must be built as corrosion resistant.
CRS Bars :
Icon 500 CRS is corrosion resistant steel which is better than even galvanized TMT bars or Epoxy coated TMT bars. CRS steel confers corrosion resistance on your structures and is preferred over such treatments as a means of adding to the building’s lifespan. Icon CRS Bar has a dense oxide layer that prevents the formation of pores.
Superior Concast Process :
Consistency across the length of the TMT bar and absence of impurities.
No flaws such as black holes or blowholes on the surface.
